South-South group carpet Arewa youths, ask IPOB, MASSOB to drop agitation

The Youths from the South-South zone of the country under the aegis of Oil & Solid Mineral Producing Area Landlords Association of Nigeria (OMPALAN) have condemned in its entirety the statement credited to the coalition of Northern youths, calling on the Igbos to quit the North before October 1st.

The youths noted that what Nigeria needs now is “Peace and Unity” which is chief among the Vision & Mission of OMPALAN.

In a statement signed by their leaders, Hon. Benjamin Ngokanya and Captain John Victor Etim and  made available to Vanguard, the group frowned at the motive of the sponsors of the  controversial statement and wondered what the sponsors of the hate speech would say

IPOB members on solidarity march for Trump
about North East and Boko Haram that had cost the country so much resources and brought her disrepute in the eyes of the international community.

They called on the authorities    to look beyond the frontiers and appreciate the damage done to the image of Nigeria by Boko Haram within the comity of nations and take appropriate actions to check the unfolding distrust.

“If the Igbos are unfit to live in the North because they are allegedly causing problems for the Nigerian State, what do we say about the North East and Boko Haram?

“We cannot blame the entire Igbo’s or South East region for the isolated actions of a tiny but, vocal group (IPOB and MASSOP) in the same way the North East region cannot be blamed and penalized for the monumental destructions and killings occasioned by Boko Haram, which has cost the tax payer in Nigeria trillions of Naira.

“All forms of agitations and threats for secession across the country should cease forthwith. Our political leaders and elders should come to a round table discussing without further delay to fashion a way forward for our dear country and remove the fragile peace process from limbo aware that so many countries are looking up to us for leadership and inspiration,” they added.

US military refuses to be intimidated after Russia threatens to target every US aircraft it finds west of the River Euphrates in Syria

The US has told Russia that it will not back down after Moscow threatened to target American and coalition planes and drones found in the west of the River Euphrates in Syria.

The threat from Moscow came after the US shot down a Russia-allied Syrian fighter bomber on Sunday afternoon after the plane dropped bombs near US-allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Russia condemned the US for shooting down the Russian plane then threatened to retaliate if US aircraft is seen in west Syria.
Following the threat, Captain Jeff Davies warned Russia that the US will not hesitate to defend itself.

Capt. Davies told Fox News:

“We do not seek conflict with any party in Syria other than ISIS, but we will not hesitate to defend ourselves or our partners if threatened.”

Moscow had said it would target all planes and drones flying west of the River Euphrates. It also said a communication line between the Russia and US that was meant to help co-ordinate flights to avoid mid-air collisions had also been shut down.

But Davis said at the press conference held on Monday that the countries were still speaking to each other about their operations.

“I'm confident that we are still communicating between our operations center and the Russia federation operations center. And I'm also confident that our forces have the capability to take care of themselves.”

Department of Defense spokesperson Major Adrian JT Rankine-Galloway promised that coalition aircraft would not be intimidated by Russia and added that they would continue conducting “operations throughout Syria, targeting ISIS forces and providing air support for Coalition partner forces on the ground.”

“As a result of recent encounters involving pro-Syrian Regime and Russian forces, we have taken prudent measures to re-position aircraft over Syria so as to continue targeting ISIS forces while ensuring the safety of our aircrew given known threats in the battlespace,” he said.

Wike doesn’t know how to speak English, he is poorly dressed and he is a thug- Rotimi Amaechi

The cold war between Minister of Transport and former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi and his successor, Nyesom Wike, has taken a new twist as both men are about to attack their wives verbally. It all started with Wike who yesterday alleged that each commissioner and local government chairman in Rivers State paid Amaechi's wife, Judith, the sum of N3m and N2m monthly while he was in office.

Amaechi who is in Kaduna state for the commissioning of the state's Inland dry port, spoke with newsmen and stated that the allegations were false.
According to him, Wike doesn’t know how to speak English, he is poorly dressed and is a thug

"By accident of Goodluck Jonathan, I don’t want to attribute it to God but by the accident of Jonathan, the man takes office and talks rubbish. My wife and family including my younger brothers and sisters, no one had access to government when I was governor. Even as minister, nobody will have such because it is not a family business. It is government business. But the problem with Nyesom Wike, and I want you to state this if he doesn’t shut up his mouth and do his work, I will bring his wife to the focus. You see I’ve been very matured not to talk about his wife. But if Wike does not close his mouth and talk about my wife anymore, I will bring out his wife. My wife will never do such. We don’t do family business. I care about transparency. My wife is a trader. She buys and sells and Wike knows that.”

Amaechi faulted claims by Wike that he squandered over N30bn belonging to Rivers State

“The man who says he has about $50m in Lagos and could no prove it is the same man you believe. The man who said I didn’t pay salaries until I left office and now he is saying no, it is pensioners that I didn’t pay. Do you believe such a man? Do you think such a man is well? You believe Nyesom Wike is well? First, he doesn’t know how to speak English, he is poorly dressed, he is a thug, and you bring me to focus with that kind of a man?"he said

Evans went to club before arrest, I rushed to Magodo on Okada – Abba Kyari, Police IRT leader

Abba Kyari, an assistant commissioner of police and head of the Intelligence Response Team, has revealed how operatives trailed and placed billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Onuamadike aka Evans, under surveillance.

Kyari also disclosed that he rode on a commercial motorcycle, popularly known as okada, to enable him move faster to Evans’ Magodo GRA Phase II residence.

The top cop said knowing the traffic situation in Lagos could delay him, he had to ditch vehicular movement for another alternative.

His words: “At about 1.30am (on Saturday), Evans and some of his gang members went out to a club around Ikeja and returned at 5.10am. So, we were very sure that would be our day.

“So, I decided to go and cleanup myself and have a little rest before I returned to Magodo,” he told The Point.

“I was still resting when my guys called that the target was set; that it appeared he wanted to go out. So, I had to take Okada from where I was, to meet up.”

Kyari added that policemen must sometimes do “unconventional things” to get at their targets.

BREAKING: Etisalat Nigeria taken over by Access Bank, others

“You won’t believe this, but it’s the truth. Do you know that when my surveillance team alerted me of the suspect’s presence at his Magodo mansion, I had no other option than to take Okada from where I was at Ikeja GRA to Magodo?

“I was approaching former tollgate, when I got another call that he might drive out any moment. So, I instructed my guys to give him warning shots; that was to announce our presence, and that kept him indoors until I got there and directed the affairs.”

Kyari recalled that he and his team had been on Evans’ trail for close to 10 years before they finally succeeded in arresting him on June 10.

“We have been following him, through intelligence gathering and surveillance, but we have always lost him. He is a very intelligent criminal with a very sound IQ, I must tell you.”

“When we tracked him to Lagos, I was in Abuja. The moment I was sure he was in Lagos, we moved down to Lagos on Monday of that week.

“We came by road and slept at a police station close to Evans’ residence and started our surveillance on him.”

Why Amaechi is angry, criticizes me – Wike

Meanwhile, Evans, has led a team of Policemen from the Federal Anti-kidnapping Unit to detention camps for people he abducted.
