EK Clark advocates restructuring for to achieve peace

An elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, on Friday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his willingness to open the lines of dialogue with youths in the Niger Delta.
Clark made the commendation during the all-inclusive ''Stakeholders Consultative Meeting of Niger Delta Coastal States'' held in Warri, Delta.
He said opening dialogue with the agitators would ensure the restoration of peace in the region and progress to the nation.
"This is good news coming from him; we, therefore, look forward to the Federal Government discussing with the real leaders and the affected youths in true spirit of frankness and openness to ensure that, once and for all, an enduring peace is achieved.
''We must find a permanent solution to the various problems that we are facing in this country,'' he said.
Clark urged all Nigerians to embrace dialogue and urged the government to stop the ``continuous militarisation of the oil communities’’.
He condemned the recent threat by some militants to declare a Niger Delta Republic and urged them to embrace peace.
